Sharmistha Chatterjee

SHARMISTHA is fortunate to have been born and associated with a family of rich traditions – be it in the world of Art, Academics. Her father, Dr. Krishna Prasad Chattopadhyay, is a great achiever in the world of Academics, but himself a music lover too, whose constant guidance has enormously influenced Sharmistha in becoming what she is today. However her greatest source of inspiration has been her father- in-law, Sri Haridas Chakraborty, a musician of National repute from ‘Vishnupur’ Gharana (lineage). Thus, juxtaposed in the opposites of the finer faculties of life, Sharmistha has shaped into a somebody – somebody who really matters in the music world today, with an orientation altogether different from others.
